Health & Safety / OSHA Compliance
The Occupational Health & Safety Administration (OSHA), a division of the Department of Labor, has as its mission, “to assure safe and healthful working conditions for working men and women by setting and enforcing standards and by providing training, outreach, education, and assistance.” While compliance with OSHA mandates may seem complicated and daunting (in fact,OSHA annually lists their top 10 violations), the overriding mission is to protect the health and safety of workers. With that in mind, Invictus Consulting offers numerous services to help your place of business – both your facility and your employees – become a safer place to work.
Safety Manual Development – Invictus Consulting can help you create a safety policy and safety manual for certain types of exposure. Many OSHA regulations require a written policy. Some common ones include:
- 1910.1200 – Toxic & Hazardous Substances – This regulation requires that all employers provide information to their employees about the hazardous chemicals to which they are exposed, by means of a hazard communication program, labels and other forms of warning, safety data sheets, and information and training.
- 1910.147 – The Control of Hazardous Energy (Lockout/Tagout) –
This regulation requires that employers
establish an energy control program that consists of energy control procedures, employee training, and periodic inspections to ensure that before any employee performs any servicing or maintenance on a machine or equipment where the unexpected energizing, startup or release of stored energy could occur and cause injury, the machine or equipment shall be isolated from the energy source and rendered inoperative. - 1910.1030 – Bloodborne Pathogens – This regulation requires that employers with occupational exposure to blood borne pathogens establish a written Exposure Control Plan designed to eliminate or minimize employee exposure.
Mock OSHA / DOT Audits – Invictus Consulting can help you make sure your business or facility is in compliance with various OSHA or DOT regulations by conducting mock audits. During a mock audit, an Invictus Consulting consultant will complete a full-focus, comprehensive audit of your particular exposures, providing a gap analysis report of where there are deficiencies and how to remedy those deficiencies in order to be OSHA or DOT complaint.
