Chris Wise and Dan Stephens are the co-founders of Invictus Consulting, LLC. Mr. Wise and Mr. Stephens have had complementary careers, with both gaining skills and experience in different facets of security that combine to make a potent team. Mr. Wise’s expertise in physical security elements complements the tactical experience brought to the table by Mr. Stephens. Chris Green, their partner in the firm, has extensive experience in business operations and strategic planning. Together they run a team of highly trained and experienced security consultants. The result of the team’s knowledge and work is a comprehensive security plan that assesses each client’s specific vulnerabilities and needs combined with detailed systems integration and an inclusive security management system.
Chris Wise, expert in the design and implementation of physical security components, has been in the security industry for the past 28 years. His background in physical security and systems integration combined with his background in starting, running, and successfully expanding his own security company gives Mr. Wise a unique perspective and set of skills as he moves on to the next phase of his career, the founding and start-up of Invictus Consulting, LLC.
Mr. Wise’s experience in the corporate sector ranges from sales representative to regional sales director to general manager to director of a major national security firm. He is certified in a multitude of software management systems and has expert knowledge of access control, biometrics, surveillance, alarm systems, IP cameras, and CCTV. Mr. Wise has designed the layout of multiple corporate security management systems and specializes in systems integration.
Mr. Wise is perfectly situated to create a security consulting company. Not only did he rise up the ranks to the position of director in one of the leading national security companies, but he has also worked with many global companies, addressing their security needs. Mr. Wise put his corporate experience to good use when, in 2003, he built his own hugely successful security company from the ground up, expanding it to more than 30 locations nationwide. Having sold that business, Mr. Wise is now focusing his efforts on the consulting side of the security industry. He is applying his expertise in physical security components and his expertise in running a successful business to meet the increasing need for active shooter plans.
Dan Stephens, expert in intelligent threats, has been in law enforcement for over 24 years. His background in tactical and instructional security gives Mr. Stephens valuable expertise to complement Mr. Wise’s expertise in designing physical security components.
Mr. Stephen has nine years of experience with SWAT teams, holding the positions of Entry Team Leader, Assistant Tactical Commander, and Lead Instructor for a state SWAT school. He has also held the position of Field Training Officer for two state police field posts. Mr. Stephens served as the Use of Force Coordinator for the Department of Public Safety for a major state police department and was instrumental in the development and implementation of the state’s Active Shooter Program. He is a certified ALERRT (Advance Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training) instructor and is the Lead Active Shooter Instructor for a metro police agency troop. Mr. Stephens has been involved in training state troopers and officers from numerous other agencies in tactics for response to active shooter events.
Mr. Stephens is the recipient of the Governor’s Public Safety Award for Heroism and was nominated a second time for that same award. He has two Valor Awards, two Commissioner’s Commendations for Bravery, and he was nominated for a third commendation for logistics. Mr. Stephens has received Physical Fitness Awards from both a major state police department and the state SWAT team. He has taught leadership at the annual convention for a state tactical officers association and is a member of the Department of Public Safety Awards Committee.
Mr. Stephens has over 5,500 hours of general, advanced, and instructor level training including instructor-level credentials in Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training, firearms, defensive tactics, TASER, Integrated Use of Force, and crisis negotiations.
All of this tactical expertise and instructional experience puts Mr. Stephens in a strong position to do extensive on-site assessment of intelligent threats and draw up comprehensive plans to mitigate that risk.
Chris Green, expert in business analysis and systems development/implementation, has been a business leader for 17 years. Mr. Green’s varied interests and business experience make him an ideal consultant.
Mr. Green has a passion for business development and customer service. Mr. Wise’s expertise of physical security and Mr. Stephens’s expertise of tactical security, coupled with Mr. Green’s expertise of business development, makes for a consulting firm that not only knows what we’re talking about but also truly cares for and understands the needs of our clients. Mr. Green’s passion for understanding how our clients’ businesses work allows Invictus Consulting to customize our services to fit each client’s unique needs.
Mr. Green has used his MBA in entrepreneurship and management, along with his natural entrepreneurial spirit, to start up multiple successful businesses. In 2005 he started a successful lawn chemical application service company. Having started it from the ground up, Mr. Green grew the company into a provider of premium services and a sought-after organization. After 9 years Mr. Green sold this company to allow him to explore other business ventures. One such interest was as co-owner of an event production company specializing in large-scale triathlon and road races. After 3 years and many successful events, Mr. Green divested his interest in this organization to focus fully on the development of Invictus Consulting along with Mr. Wise and Mr. Stephens.
In addition to Mr. Green’s entrepreneurial expertise, he has extensive experience in the corporate sector, ranging from sales engineer to account executive to sales manager to regional modernization manager. During his time with a vertical transportation company he was responsible for managing the daily productivity of sales employees, project managing large-scale vertical transportation equipment installation and upgrades, and developing new business. Mr. Green’s business insight and systems acumen often led him into special critical projects such as developing the sales protocols and procedures for the implementation of the SAP platform company-wide and organizing and implementing a disaster recovery plan at a lift equipment factory.
